Video: 2023 Hailwood Trophy part 2 full race | 80MM
When two- and four-stroke Motorcycles take to the Goodwood Motor Circuit for a scrap, you know all who look on are in for a good time. Following an action packed opening race, part two of the Hailwood Trophy was the decider at the 80th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport.
Each bike was a grand prix machine that competed either as a 250 or 350cc machine up to 1983, or in Formula 750 up to 1978, with the earliest bikes aged more than 50 years old. In terms of the fight up front, it was Graham Higlett and his 1971 Triumph T150 versus Andy Hornby on his 1971 RPS Triumph Trident.
It was a nail-biter to the very end, with the two competitors locking handlebars lap after lap, finishing just 0.3 seconds apart. A true photo finish the likes of which we’re familiar with at Goodwood and well worth the ten-minute watch.
