Video: Mini goes overtake crazy passing bigger cars at Goodwood
It’s not a proper Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport if there’s not a manic Mini onboard, and 79MM delivered just that. Here we join Mini master Nick Swift in his 1275 GT as he goes wheel-to-wheel with towering Rover SD1s, Chevy Camaros and Ford Mustangs.
In classic Swift style, he carves the little Mini up through the pack, beginning with a thumping great Boss Mustang on his right flank. It shoots up ahead with its monster power reserves fully deployed, leaving Swift to tussle with the less generously powered machinery in Escorts, Dolomites and more.
His daring late braking and screaming downshifts leave the Mini bouncing side to side on the way into Woodcote, before bobbing it through the Chicane and screaming down the straight.
The way the little Mini carries momentum around the Goodwood Motor Circuit looks to defy the laws of physics, most likely what the drivers of the big V8 bruisers would be thinking as he passes them.
